Resumo: | The school is a place of dispute of conceptions and visions of the world. In relation to
ethnic-racial issues, this dispute runs through two visions, the first is focused on a
unilateral Eurocentric perspective, which reproduces a supposed inferiority of African
people and their descendants by overvaluing the historical and cultural experiences of the
segment supposedly "superior", devaluing and stereotyping the cultural, historical,
identical of Africans and Afro-descendants. The second view perceives school as a place
of deconstruction of this "inferiority" attributed to Africans and Afro-Brazilians. The
research "Racial relations: an evaluation of the effectiveness of the National Program of
Didactic Book (PNLD 2015)", is an analysis about public policy of teaching materials in
relation to their compliance with the National Curricular Guidelines for Education of
Ethnic and Racial Relations for the Teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and
Culture. We search identify how the contents of Afro-Brazilian and African history and
culture are dealt in the books of History approved by the program. We wish evaluate, if
these didactic materials are in accord with is established by the guidelines, it means, if
they incorporated in their contents an African, Afro-Brazilian history and culture in a
positive way. The methodological process consisted of a documentary research and
content analysis in three didactic collections approved by the program. The result points
to a partial effectiveness of this public policy, as far possible, the approach to themes of
African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture receives a general and simplified
treatment, not necessarily negative, but rather superficial. |
