Resumo:The phenomenon of the population in the street situation is originated by multiple determinations. However, the mode of organization of capitalist society, guided by the logic of wage labor and the maximization of profits to the detriment of life, stands out. In this context, the segment researched constitutes a social group that is marginalized and stigmatized by society that does not recognize its way of life and makes its existence contemptible. Nevertheless, this group is not made up of people outside the world, incapable of questioning their own condition, disinterested in transforming their realities and overcoming this state. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the role assumed by the Political Formation Meetings held by the National Population Movement in the State of Rio Grande do Norte (MNPR / RN). Specific objectives include: I) identifying the moments of political formation developed by the MNPR / RN; II) to analyze the discussions that emerge from such moments; III) and to obtain information about the group's perception regarding these moments. This is a scientific study in which research methods, documentary research, fieldwork through participant observation, and semi-structured interviews will be used as research methods. As a criterion for the selection of the interviewees, it was defined: MNPR / RN militants, in a street situation, who attend the Political Formation Meetings developed by the movement, as well as general coordinators of the MNPR / RN. Six categories of analysis emerged from the field immersion through participant observation, which refer to the themes and issues most frequently raised in the group's debates immersed in the context of the study. It is hoped that the results obtained through this research can contribute to new perspectives on the phenomenon of the street population, in addition, that provides an understanding of the aspects related to the political organization of this segment through the social movement, in this context.
