description Several studies have addressed the evidences of behavioral biases regarding individual‘s decisions either in an isolated or in a group composition. However, there are not reports in the academy about researches that seek to observe the consciousness impact about the bias or knowledge regarding biases by individuals in the reduction of its impacts. In this way, the current research has its main objective focused on the investigation of the decreasing impact of information regarding behavioral biases related to the decisions taken by individuals. In other words, this research seeks to answer how the consciousness or knowledge about de biases act concerning decisions. It is a descriptive, quantitative research developed from a quasi-experiment done through a survey. The samples are of non-probabilistic types, composed by participants of an extension course in finance (210 valid observations), and another one by the accounting students of UFRN (288 valid observations). The quasi-experiment was implemented from an execution plan that sought to determine the evidence and intensity of the behavioral biases in two distinctive moments, (before and after) the exposition of the videos that explained and promoted the consciousness and objective information to the individuals about the different behavioral biases. The cross-tab technique was used having as a significant statistical verifier the McNemar test, bearing in mind that it is the most adequate test for studies that involve ―before and after‖. The results have shown a significant reduction on the impact of the loss aversion and mental accounting and marginally for the anchoring biases. However, it was not possible to notice a significant change according to the statistical point of view regarding the endowment effect. Therefore, the current research presents retraction evidence about the impact on behavioral biases from the moment that the individuals have become conscious regarding the biases. To verify the persistence of this impact over time, a new intervention was made three months after (213 valid repetitions), seeking to check the possibility of the impact being only transitory. For this sample, the impact does not seem to persist over time.

Inúmeros estudos têm tratado das evidências de vieses comportamentais nas decisões dos indivíduos de forma isolada ou num composto de relacionamento. Entretanto, não há relatos na academia sobre investigações que buscaram observar o efeito que a consciência ou conhecimento acerca dos vieses, pelos indivíduos, poderia resultar na redução de seus efeitos. Nesse sentido, a presente pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar o efeito moderador da informação sobre vieses comportamentais nas decisões dos indivíduos. Dito de outra forma, esta investigação busca responder como a consciência (ou o conhecimento acerca dos vieses) age sobre suas decisões. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, quantitativa, desenvolvida a partir de um quase-experimento realizado por meio de survey. As amostras são do tipo não probabilísticas, compostas por participantes de um curso de extensão em finanças (210 observações válidas) e por alunos do curso de graduação em Ciências Contábeis da UFRN (288 observações válidas). O quase-experimento foi implementado a partir de um plano de execução, que buscou aferir a evidência e a intensidade de vieses comportamentais em dois momentos distintos: antes e depois da exposição de vídeos sobre os diferentes vieses comportamentais, que explicavam e promoviam consciência e informação objetiva aos indivíduos. Utilizou-se a técnica da tabulação cruzada, tendo como verificador da significância estatística o teste de McNemar, devido ser esse o mais adequado aos estudos do tipo ―antes e depois‖. Os resultados apontaram redução significativa dos efeitos para aversão à perda, para contabilidade mental e, marginalmente, para os vieses de ancoragem. Entretanto, não foi possível evidenciar alterações significativas, do ponto de vista estatístico, para o efeito dotação. Portanto, a presente pesquisa apresenta indícios de retração dos efeitos dos vieses comportamentais, a partir do momento que os indivíduos tomam consciência acerca dos vieses. Com o intuito de verificar a persistência desses efeitos ao longo do tempo, foi realizada uma nova intervenção três meses após a primeira (213 repetições válidas), buscando averiguar a possibilidade de o efeito ser apenas transitório.
