Shrnutí:This work is a register of a didactic prototype developed in a 7th level class from youth and adult education in State School Djalma Aranha Marinho, Natal/RN. This study aims to systematize some actions focused on Portuguese teaching using discursive genre chronicle. To this, it has base some authors like Bakhtin (2003, 2014, 2015, 2016), related to language conception, concrete utterance and discursive genre; Geraldi (1999, 2003, 2015), Antunes (2003), Rojo and Moura (2012) and Rojo (2013, 2015), about questions and strategies in the Portuguese teaching; besides Candido et al. (1992 e 1997) and Sá (2005) that writes about discursive genre chronicle. As methodology, this study is an action-research that applies a questionnaire and uses dynamics and strategies of reading. As a result, it shows that chronicle is a discursive genre that promotes self-reflection because it approaches to the reality, stimulating a large reading repertory and lots of knowledge to establish relations between reading and critic sense.
