When discoursing about the identification and delimitation of Terra Indigena Las Casas (PA, Brazil), I try to show how the reconstruction of this land promoted reinterpretation about the main aspects of their social organisation, including the emotional aspects that are frequently denied discussion. Therefore, more than containing it into a normative and legal perspective, it becomes evident the importance of their culture in this process. Propõe-se tratar do reconhecimento de direitos territoriais a partir da perspectiva dos índios Caiapó e demonstrar como ampliam a perspectiva jurídica ao incorporar ao processo outras dimensões. Ao discorrer sobre a identificação e delimitação da Terra Indígena Las Casas (PA, Brasil), mostro como a reconstrução desse território implicou em reinterpretações sobre aspectos centrais da organização social, envolvendo aspectos afetivos frequentemente negligenciados no debate.
