| Resumo: | Currently, the teaching of determinants has been restricted basically to memorizing
formulas and properties, without providing a critical analysis of the historical context
of formation and the production processes that generate such formulas and properties.
To insert the subject within a historical context, the present work is developed from the
study of linear systems. Then we introduce the definition of the determinant from the
perspective of permutations and inversions, some properties that involve determinants
and condensation methods such as Laplace’s Theorem and the Rule of Chio. Finally,
we will work with applications involving the properties studied. |
