The two ovens have different internal settings, with the greenhouse effect and the concentration of incident solar radiation as the main parameters of differentiation. The main features of the ovens are the low cost, the reuse of materials, the manufacturing and assembly processes simplified, the easy management and the ability of baking a variety of foods simultaneously. The manufacturing and operation of the ovens can be handled by any social and intellectual level of people. The feasibility of the ovens to bake the tested foods was proved with success, ensuring the supremacy of the mirrored oven. The results obtained for both ovens were competitive even with the conventional gas oven, producing the baking of three cakes with 750g in just 80 minutes. Apresenta-se o estudo comparativo da capacidade de assamento de dois fornos solares tipo caixa, fabricados a partir de um caixote para transporte de equipamentos. Os dois fornos têm configurações internas diferentes, predominando o efeito estufa ou a concentração da radiação solar incidente. As principais características dos fornos fabricados são seu baixo custo, o reaproveitamento de materiais, os fáceis processos de fabricação e montagem, a simples operacionalidade e a capacidade de assamento de vários alimentos simultaneamente. A fabricação e a operacionalidade dos fornos estudados podem ser repassados para pessoas de quaisquer níveis sociais e intelectuais. Foi demonstrada a viabilidade de utilização dos dois fornos para produzir o assamento dos alimentos testados, comprovando-se a supremacia do forno espelhado. Os resultados obtidos para as duas configurações testadas foram competitivos até mesmo com o forno convencional a gás.
