This paper addresses the prevalence of the media and consumption culture in the life of a number of students and individuals that attend school in large cities in contemporary times. By considering the theory of creativity proposed by Mitjáns Martínez and studies on the media and consumption culture, such as those by Bauman, we carried out a research during the year 2015 aiming to interpret the main ways that four public schools in the Federal District have related with media and consumption culture. From the use of informations produced in the schools by means of interviews, observations, photographs and documental analysis, we found three prevalent ways: incorporation and/or reproduction of the media and consumption culture; its normatization and/or prohibition; and creative ways to deal with it. We have concluded that, somehow, the schools need to cope with that culture, which has shown to be inevitable, and that creativity in the pedagogical work is a possible and necessary alternative in relation to that culture. |

Se consideró la predominancia de la cultura de los medios de comunicación y de consumo en la vida de gran parte de los alumnos e individuos que habitan la institución escuela en los grandes centros urbanos en tiempos contemporáneos. Considerando la teoría de la creatividad de Mitjáns Martínez y los estudios sobre la cultura de los medios de comunicación y del consumo, tales como los de Bauman, se desenvolvió una investigación durante el año 2015 con el objetivo de interpretar las principales formas de relacionarse de cuatro escuelas públicas del Distrito Federal con esta la cultura de los medios de comunicación y del consumo. A partir de informaciónes producidas en las escuelas por medio de entrevistas, observaciones, fotografías y análisis documental, se constató que hay tres formas principales formas: la incorporación y/o reproducción de la cultura de los medios de comunicación y del consumo; su normalización y/o prohibición; y las formas creativas de lidiar con ella. Se concluyó que, de alguna manera, las escuelas precisan lidiar con esa cultura, que se muestra, en gran medida, inevitable, y la creatividad en el trabajo pedagógico es una alternativa posible y necesaria frente a esa cultura. Considerou-se a proeminência da cultura da mídia e do consumo na vida de grande parte dos alunos e indivíduos que habitam a instituição escola nos grandes centros urbanos em tempos contemporâneos. Com base no arcabouço teórico da criatividade de Mitjáns Martínez e dos estudos sobre a cultura da mídia e do consumo, tais como os de Bauman, desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa durante o ano de 2015 tendo como objetivo interpretar as principais formas de quatro escolas públicas do Distrito Federal/Brasil se relacionarem com a cultura da mídia e do consumo. A partir de informações produzidas nas escolas por meio de entrevistas, observações, fotografias e análise documental, constatou-se que há três principais formas: a incorporação e/ou reprodução da cultura da mídia e do consumo; sua normatização e/ou proibição; e formas criativas de lidar com ela. Conclui-se que, de alguma forma, as escolas precisam lidar com essa cultura, que se mostra, em grande medida, inevitável, e a criatividade no trabalho pedagógico é uma alternativa possível e necessária diante dessa cultura.
