Resumo:The purpose of this article is to provide insights into continuing education in dance for teachers. From this perspective, we developed the Poéticas da Dança na Educação Básica (Poetics of Dance in Primary and Secondary Education) project, which offers a continuing education course for teachers in the areas of physical education, pedagogy and dance. In it, in addition to knowledge of art and dance, we proposed the development of projects that were applied in the school context. Here we take a specific look at the subproject called O Corpo Inventa História (The Body Invents History), designed for dance activities with young children. We discuss the theoretical and practical assumptions that involve the design and execution of the subproject, including the reflective practitioner who builds his knowledge in relation to action, reflection and action (Schön, 1992) and the knowledge of experience (Larrosa, 2002), updated by Godoy (2013) to knowledge of dance. Then we will consider the practices adopted and performed.
