Resumo:This article has researched the scientific production of Journal of Administration of USP (University of São Paulo) from 1977 to 2011. In terms of methodology, the present study was based on a bibliometric and sociometric survey with descriptive and multivariate statistics, in 979 articles. The main results were: predominance of articles of joint authorship; the authors Roberto Sbragia and Eduardo Vasconcellos published more articles; researchers Porter, M.E. and Kotler, P. were the most cited references during the 35 years of research; Universidade de São Paulo (USP) was the Institution of Higher Education (HEIs) which most published; there is high degree centrality in co-authorship networks and HEIs;  quantitative approach was prominent in the 979 articles which we investigated;  and the themes of Organizational Culture, Corporate Governance, Business Strategies, Capital Markets, Organizational Structure and Performance were the most evident in the period from 1977 to 2011. It was concluded that the archives of Journal of Administration of USP reflects the universe of the academic area of management, helping to develop, disseminate and socialize the area through scientific articles published throughout brazilian national academic literature.Keywords: Journal of Administration of USP; Bibliometrics; Social Network.
