description This present study aims at identifying, among the analyzed variables by SINAES, which ones can influence the students' academic performance. The sample is constituted by Accounting Sciences Graduation Courses which obtained concepts 1 and 2 versus 4 and 5 in ENADE in the years 2009 and 2012, totalizing 383 courses, in 2009, e 464, in 2012. The following variables have been analyzed: freshmen's marks in Enem, parents' schooling, infrastructure rate, pedagogic didactical organization rate, teachers' working hours and quantity of masters and doctors. The work has used as statistical tool the non parametric test Mann-Whitney, once the data couldn't present normal distribution. It has been verified that the only variable that has not presented influence over the mark obtained by the IES(Higher Education Institution) in ENADE was the "parents' schooling". The results obtained in the research show the main points in which higher education entities  should invest in order to get better results in ENADE, which are: teachers qualification (entitling and pedagogic formation), infrastructure investment and enlargement of teachers with exclusive dedication.Keywords: ENADE. Este estudio pretende identificar, entre las variables analizadas por el SINAES (Sistema Nacional de Evaluación de la Educación Superior), cuáles afectan el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. La muestra utilizada fueron los cursos de graduación en Ciencias Contables que obtuvieron conceptos 1 y 2 versus 4 y 5 en el ENADE (Examen Nacional de Rendimiento de los Estudiantes) en los años 2009 y 2012, un total de 383 cursos en 2009 y 464, en 2012. Se analizaron las siguientes variables: calificación de los novatos en el Enem (Examen Nacional de Educación Secundaria - para acceder a la Educación Superior), escolaridad de los padres, infraestructura,  nota organización didáctico pedagógica, régimen de trabajo docente y cantidades de magísteres y doctores. El trabajo utilizó como herramienta estadística la prueba no paramétrica U de Mann-Whitney, puesto que los datos no presentaban distribuciones normales. Se comprobó que la única variable que no presentó influencia en la calificación obtenida por la IES (Institución de Educación Superior) en el ENADE era la escolaridad de los padres. Los resultados obtenidos por la investigación revelan los puntos principales en que las entidades de educación superior deben invertir para obtener mejores resultados en el ENADE, que son: sus calificaciones académicas (cualificación y formación pedagógica), inversión en infraestructura y la expansión del número de profesores con dedicación exclusiva.Palabras clave: ENADE. Rendimiento académico. SINAES. Ciencias Contables. O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar, entre as variáveis analisadas pelo SINAES, que influenciam o desempenho acadêmico dos discentes. A amostra utilizada foram os cursos de graduação em Ciências Contábeis que obtiveram conceitos 1 e 2 versus 4 e 5 no ENADE dos anos de 2009 e 2012, totalizando 383 cursos, em 2009, e 464, em 2012. Foram analisadas as seguintes variáveis: nota dos ingressantes no Enem, escolaridade dos pais, nota infraestrutura, nota organização didático pedagógica, regime de trabalho docente e quantidades de mestres e doutores. O trabalho utilizou como ferramenta estatística o teste não paramétrico Mann-Whitney, uma vez que os dados não apresentavam distribuição normal. De acordo com os resultados, a única variável que não apresentou influência na nota obtida pelas IES no ENADE foi escolaridade dos pais. Os resultados obtidos pela pesquisa revelam os principais pontos em que as entidades de ensino superior devem investir para obterem melhores resultados no ENADE, quais sejam: qualificação docente (titulação e formação pedagógica), investimento em infraestrutura e ampliação da quantidade de professores com dedicação exclusiva.Palavras-chave: ENADE.
