I justify the importance of undergraduates being actively immersed in their field from the premise that our own initial school experience is where we get our first lessons on how to become a teacher, understanding the importance of immersing the student teacher within the school environment in a partnership between school and university where learning is not distinct from doing.English version: Leslie H. Damasceno Problematizo nesse artigo a aprendizagem da docência em teatro com estudantes participantes de um projeto de extensão universitária. Proponho a formação do professor-artista e que sua prática artística dialogue com sua prática pedagógica, possibilitando que um processo alimente o outro e traga contribuições para uma renovação da prática teatral na escola. Justifico a importância do licenciando estar imerso no seu campo de trabalho e parto da premissa de que é na escola que de fato temos um aprendizado do que é ser professor. Finalizo o texto compreendendo a importância da imersão do futuro professor na escola, em uma parceria entre a escola e a universidade para a formação docente onde aprender não é distinto de fazer.
