description The relationship between psychological empowerment with organizational aspects, such as job performance and the performance measurement system, has aroused interest in academic research. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between psychological empowerment and the performance measurement system of the organization and management performance of its employees. A descriptive study was conducted with data collected through survey, applying the statistical technique of Partial Least Squares (PLS). A questionnaire adapted from Hall (2008), composed of four blocks of questions, was sent to 50 employees in the administrative area of four companies located in Santa Catarina, of which 20 answered it. The results indicate relationships of some dimensions between the psychological empowerment with the comprehensibility of the performance measurement system (PMS) and with the management performance, although they are only partial. It is concluded that the psychological empowerment of employees don’t indicate determinant association with performance measurement system and with the management performance of employees.Keywords: Psychological Empowerment. La relación entre el empowerment psicológico y los aspectos organizativos, tales como el desempeño laboral y el sistema de medición del desempeño, han despertado el interés en la investigación académica. Se espera que las teorías psicológicas sugieren que los mecanismos cognitivos y motivacionales son capaces de explicar la relación entre los sistemas de medición del desempeño y lo desempeño gerencial. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación entre el empowerment psicológico y el sistema de medición del desempeño de la organización y el desempeño gerencial de sus empleados. Estudio descriptivo se realizó con datos recogidos a través de una encuesta, con la aplicación de la técnica estadística de Partial Least Squares (PLS). Un cuestionario, adaptado de Hall (2008), compuesto por cuatro bloques de preguntas, fue enviado a 50 empleados en el área administrativa de las cuatro empresas ubicadas en Santa Catarina, de los cuales 20 se respondió. Los resultados indican relaciones de algunas de las dimensiones de lo empowerment psicológico con la comprensión del sistema de medición del desempeño (PMS) y lo desempeño gerencial, a pesar de que son sólo parciales. Se concluye que el empowerment psicológico de los empleados no tiene asociación determinante con el sistema de medición de desempeño y el desempeño gerencial de los empleados.Palabras clave: Empowerment psicológico. A relação do empowerment psicológico com aspectos organizacionais, como o desempenho no trabalho e o sistema de mensuração de desempenho, vem despertando interesse em pesquisas acadêmicas. Espera-se que as teorias psicológicas indiquem que mecanismos cognitivos e motivacionais sejam aptos a explicar a relação entre os sistemas de mensuração de desempenho e o desempenho gerencial. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo é analisar a relação entre o empowerment psicológico com o sistema de mensuração de desempenho da organização e com o desempenho gerencial dos seus empregados. Pesquisa descritiva foi realizada com dados coletados por meio de levantamento, com aplicação da técnica estatística de Partial Least Squares (PLS). Um questionário adaptado de Hall (2008), composto de quatro blocos de perguntas, foi enviado para 50 empregados de setores administrativos de quatro empresas localizadas em Santa Catarina, dos quais 20 o responderam. Os resultados indicam relações de algumas dimensões do empowerment psicológico com a compreensibilidade do sistema de mensuração de desempenho (PMS) e com o desempenho gerencial, embora sejam apenas parciais. Conclui-se que o empowerment psicológico dos empregados não apresenta associação significativa com o sistema de mensuração de desempenho e com o desempenho gerencial dos empregados.Palavras-chave: Empowerment psicológico.
