Resumo:The current market requires accounting professionals able to assist managers in making decisions, and quantitative methods a fundamental tool for the development of relevant information, however, according to Quirino (2010), the students of the University Accounting Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), the campus Christmas present limitations for using these methods in the professional field. The present study aims to investigate the reason for the poor performance of students in curricular component quantitative methods for analyzing the questionnaires answered by 139 students from 5th to 9th period, using the nonparametric method, using the chi-square . The analysis reveals that student performance is influenced by the connection among the methods and possibilities of application in different areas of accounting, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinarity in teaching and learning.   Keywords: Quantitative methods.
