This article consists of an adaptation of a course conclusion work and deals with Prison Education and the resocialization of individuals deprived of liberty. To organize the theoretical and conceptual framework that supported the research, the literature review included scientific articles available in the CAPES journal portal collection and aimed to contextualize the theme and its contribution. Through this study, we discuss which principles underpin educational practices developed in prison environments, through theoretical and documentary support, such as: Foucault (2002), Beccaria (2019), Novo (2021), Freire (1987), the Federal Constitution (Brazil, 1988), the Penal Execution Law (Brazil, 1984), among others. The absence of Prison Education in the country's teacher training courses and the offer of an education that is very far from Freire's proposal for emancipation stands out, as it only aims to serve, in a technical way, the job market or the reduction of sentences. |

Este artículo consiste en una adaptación de un trabajo de conclusión de curso y trata sobre la Educación Penitenciaria y la resocialización de las personas privadas de libertad. Para organizar el marco teórico y conceptual que sustentó la investigación, la revisión de la literatura incluyó artículos científicos disponibles en la colección del portal de la revista CAPES y tuvo como objetivo contextualizar el tema y su contribución. A través de este estudio, discutimos qué principios sustentan las prácticas educativas desarrolladas en ambientes carcelarios, a través de soporte teórico y documental, como: Foucault (2002), Beccaria (2019), Novo (2021), Freire (1987), la Constitución Federal (Brasil, 1988), la Ley de Ejecución Penal (Brasil, 1984), entre otras. Destaca la ausencia de la Educación Penitenciaria en los cursos de formación docente del país y la oferta de una educación muy alejada de la propuesta emancipadora de Freire, que sólo apunta a servir, de manera técnica, al mercado laboral o a la reducción de penas. Este artigo consiste em adaptação de trabalho de conclusão de curso e versa acerca da Educação Prisional e da ressocialização dos indivíduos em privação de liberdade. Para organizar o quadro teórico e conceitual que deu sustentação à pesquisa, a revisão de literatura contou com artigos científicos disponibilizados no acervo do portal de periódicos CAPES e teve como objetivo contextualizar a temática e sua contribuição. Por meio desse estudo, discutem-se quais princípios embasam as práticas educacionais desenvolvidas nos ambientes prisionais, por meio de aporte teórico e documental, tais como: Foucault (2002), Beccaria (2019), Novo (2021), Freire (1987), a Constituição Federal (Brasil, 1988), a Lei de Execução Penal (Brasil, 1984), entre outros. Destacam-se a ausência da Educação Prisional nos cursos de formação de professores do país e a oferta de uma educação que se distancia muito da proposta freiriana de emancipação, pois visa apenas atender, de forma tecnicista, ao mercado de trabalho ou à redução da pena.
