This research deals with the biography of teacher Ana Maria Santos. Ana Maria is a teacher who has dedicated her experience of more than 30 years in teaching in public schools in the municipality of Tauá/CE, located in the backlands of the Inhamuns. This study aimed to biograph teacher Ana Maria with emphasis on her formative trajectory, as well as on her teaching performance between the years 1965 and 2018. The research was theoretically based on Cultural History and methodologically on Oral History, in which we used as a collection technique the free interviews in Oral History. The results showed that Ana Maria, a black woman of humble origin, faced several difficulties to continue with her schooling process and also difficulties related to the problems of gender and race. In addition, the research aims to contribute to the studies that deal with the themes of black women, as well as with the biographies of educators from Ceará. Esta pesquisa trata da biografia da professora Ana Maria Santos. Ana Maria é uma professora que dedicou sua experiência de mais de 30 anos na docência em escolas públicas do município de Tauá/CE, localizado no sertão dos Inhamuns. Este estudo objetivou biografar a professora Ana Maria com ênfase em sua trajetória formativa, bem como na sua atuação docente entre os anos de 1965 e 2018. A pesquisa amparou-se teoricamente na História Cultural e metodologicamente na História Oral, em que utilizamos como técnica de coleta as entrevistas livres em História Oral. Os resultados apontaram que Ana Maria, mulher negra e de origem humilde, enfrentou diversas dificuldades para prosseguir com seu processo de escolarização e, também, dificuldades relacionados aos problemas de gênero e raça. Além disso, a pesquisa visa a contribuir com os estudos que versam sobre as temáticas de mulheres negras, bem como com as biografias de educadoras cearenses.
