This integral formation or the full development of the human personality is reinforced nowadays by important declarations and institutions of international level such as UNESCO, UNICEF and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It turns out that the idea of ​​thinking about an integral education of human beings and the full development of their potential is not new and in the Enlightenment period, the swiss philosopher and pedagogue Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi was already thinking about education from this perspective. Pestalozzi, as we will see in this article, conceived a global pedagogy centered on the development of all the students' faculties: physical, intellectual, moral, affective. Thus, this article, which adopts bibliographical research as a methodology, presents a study on the work of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, with emphasis on the idea of ​​an education aimed at the full development of human capacities. For this, we will make some considerations about Pestalozzi's experiences as an educator, some considerations about the influence of the philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, especially from the concept of human nature since, for Pestalozzi, the child is conceived as a developing organism that reveals itself from the union between head, heart and hands and, thus, we will be able to approach the aspects that are related to the proposal of an integral education that will be the last topic approached and the objective of this article.

Hablar de educación implica comprender el proceso de formación del ser humano, entendiéndolo como un ser multidimensional y en su totalidad: corporal/física, intelectual/cognitiva, afectiva/emocional, social/cultural. Esta formación integral o pleno desarrollo de la personalidad humana se ve reforzada en la actualidad por importantes declaraciones e instituciones de nivel internacional como la UNESCO, UNICEF y la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos. Resulta que la idea de pensar en una educación integral del ser humano y el pleno desarrollo de sus potencialidades no es nueva y en la época de la Ilustración, el filósofo y pedagogo suizo Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi ya pensaba en la educación desde esta perspectiva. Pestalozzi, como veremos en este artículo, concibió una pedagogía global centrada en el desarrollo de todas las facultades de los alumnos: físicas, intelectuales, morales, afectivas. Así, este artículo, que adopta como metodología la investigación bibliográfica, presenta un estudio sobre la obra de Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, con énfasis en la idea de una educación dirigida al pleno desarrollo de las capacidades humanas. Para ello, haremos algunas consideraciones sobre las experiencias de Pestalozzi como educador, algunas consideraciones sobre la influencia del filósofo Jean-Jacques Rousseau, especialmente a partir del concepto de naturaleza humana ya que, para Pestalozzi, el niño es concebido como un organismo en desarrollo a partir de la unión entre cabeza, corazón y manos y, así, podremos abordar los aspectos que se relacionan con la propuesta de una educación integral que será el último tema abordado y el objetivo de este artículo. Falar em educação implica em entender o processo de formação do ser humano compreendendo-o como um ser multidimensional e em sua integralidade: corporal/física, intelectual/cognitiva, afetiva/emocional, social/cultural. Esta formação integral ou o pleno desenvolvimento da personalidade humana é reforçada hoje em dia por importantes declarações e instituições de nível internacional como a UNESCO, UNICEF e a Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos. Acontece que a ideia de pensar uma educação integral do ser humano e o pleno desenvolvimento de suas potencialidades não é nova e no período do Iluminismo, o filósofo e pedagogo suíço Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi já pensava a educação a partir desta perspectiva. Pestalozzi, como veremos neste artigo, concebeu uma pedagogia global centrada no desenvolvimento de todas as faculdades dos alunos: física, intelectual, moral, afetiva. Desta forma, este artigo, que adota como metodologia a pesquisa bibliográfica, apresenta um estudo sobre a obra de Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, com ênfase na ideia de uma educação voltada para o pleno desenvolvimento das capacidades humanas. Para isto faremos algumas considerações sobre as experiências de Pestalozzi como educador, algumas considerações sobre a influência do filósofo Jean-Jacques Rousseau, sobretudo a partir do conceito de natureza humana pois, para Pestalozzi, a criança é concebida como um organismo em desenvolvimento que se revela a partir da união entre mente, coração e mãos e, assim, poderemos abordar os aspectos que se relacionam com a proposta de uma educação integral que será o último tópico abordado e o objetivo desde artigo.
