Resumo: | This review aims to introduce readers to the ethnographic work of Arthur Leonardo da Costa Novo, a young doctor in Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. His thesis deals with intrafamily relationships, forms of kinship and gender transition processes that cross and recompose moral and affection logics of families of trans young people. In this regard, the work focuses on a consolidated ethnography that mixes social and subjective analysis of the theme of transgenderism and weaves together a particular argument for the reconstitution of gifts, bonds and transformations of family relationships. For the author, the transition is realigned as an emic category, crossing shared pasts, new interaction arrangements and politicizing affections. |
