Resumo:This article investigates the manifestation of violence, understood as any action that annihilates or reduces someone's dignity and that is based on the bases of authoritarianism and the relationship of command and obedience, relating it to Brazilian culture. It points out that, because it was formed in colonial molds, violence in Brazilian society is based on structural elements, which have at their core the clash of identities, and exposes the varied nature of violence and its types. As, in relationship with the adult, the child is considered an other, the article conceives violence against this social category from the perspective of identities. In it, literary texts that have children or adolescents as protagonists are analyzed and it is concluded that, by representing violence, these texts manifest themselves against it, denouncing it through symbolic language.
