Resumo:This paper aims to analyze, through the perspective of laughter and parody, the novel O poeta e o cavaleiro, written by Pedro Bandeira, and investigate how, through these elements, the author creates a praise for art, disobedience and humor. For this purpose, our theoretical foundation starts from the discussions about laughter by Henry Bergson, carnivalization and parody by Mikhail Bakhtin and parody as an art form by Linda Hutcheon, linking with academic studies by scholars Affonso Romano Sant’anna and José Luiz Fiorin. As a result, we observed that the literary work is able to criticize History, institutions or people, subverting and desacralizing the established. Furthermore, in the case of Brazilian young adult literature, the center of this research, it stimulates a dialogical network of contact with other readings and expands social awareness without leaving aside the ludic aspects.
