This article aims to analyze in the novel Olho de Boto (2015), by Salomão Larêdo, the representations and figurations of violence against the LGBTQI+ community and the relations with contemporary conservatism and authoritarianism and from the period of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, respectively the times of production and representation of the novel. The narrative shows the subjective, systemic and symbolic violence experienced by a trans character who aims to marry her beloved and complete the gender transition during the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship. The character, victim of the cisheteronormative compulsoriness model, only reaches the objective after the capitalist co-option of this right. The main theoretical contributions used in the analysis are Bento (2008), Žižek (2014), Chauí (2017; 2020), Quinalha (2017), Schwarcz (2019).
