Resumo:In the dialogue between literature and violence, some literary texts provide readers empathy about subjective violence and awaken perceptions about the systemic and symbolic forms of violence. This article aims to analyze in the novel Olho de Boto (2015), by Salomão Larêdo, the representations and figurations of violence against the LGBTQI+ community and the relations with contemporary conservatism and authoritarianism and from the period of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, respectively the times of production and representation of the novel. The narrative shows the subjective, systemic and symbolic violence experienced by a trans character who aims to marry her beloved and complete the gender transition during the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship. The character, victim of the cisheteronormative compulsoriness model, only reaches the objective after the capitalist co-option of this right. The main theoretical contributions used in the analysis are Bento (2008), Žižek (2014), Chauí (2017; 2020), Quinalha (2017), Schwarcz (2019).
