Resumo:In this article, a bibliographic survey, we present a parallel between the book Canto dos Malditos – Austregésilo Carrano Bueno’s autobiography, the only and controversial work written by this author who helped to establish the Psychiatric Reform in Brazil – and its adaptation for the cinema under the title Bicho de Sete Cabeças, one of our most awarded films. Firstly, we present Bueno’'s work; then we compare the many coincidences and few divergences between the source text and the film and, finally, we make an analysis of the mediatic (RAJEWSKY, 2012) and intersemiotic (CLÜVER, 2006) transposition between the two arts. We conclude that this is one of the cases in which the film adaptation of a book is done in such a way as to keep the dialogue between both preserved, respecting veracity and the acceptable limit of poetic licenses that media transpositions can and/or must maintain, as it was in this case.
