Resumo: | (In)finite body? is a visual essay that seeks to portray the material and symbolic dimension of life and death, understanding that both are rituals that express limits and out-of-body expansions. The use of fire, candle and black and white colors work as residual elements, which express mourning, sacrifice and celebration. Surrounded by a series of everyday insurgencies, the essay also seeks to demonstrate that the social place of the body and the idea of finitude can, depending on the situation and its uses, be disposable notions. The essay ends with a reflection on ancestry, with a view to highlighting a language of the unfinished, of what it teaches us about the continuity of life/death and its symbolism. |
