| Resumo: | Strabo's Geography (I BC-I AD) is a description of the ancient Afro-Eurasian world. Among the chorographies which compose the fifteen books of the work, it is in the last one that we observe the description of what we now call North and Northeast Africa and, chiefly, the report on Alexandria. Among the approaches that can be made in the analysis of the text, the spatial one stands out for dialoguing with the thematic focus of the work, that is, the geographic space. Thus, we consider that the instrumentalization of spatial concepts such as “place”, by Yi-Fu Tuan (1983), and, particularly, “landscape”, by Tim Ingold (2000; 2015), can broaden the perspective on the historical source. Therefore, we approach the case of the city of Alexandria to present how the interpretation of the text from the landscape is made.
