The theory of discourse developed by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe will serve as the main theoretical-methodological contribution of this article, given the possibility that this theory opens for the understanding of discourse as a political practice in the analysis proposal presented here. In this perspective, the article aims to contribute through its results to give more visibility to the subject, that is, the study of the so-called "evangelical bloc" in the National Congress, seeking, in this way, to explore the theme with the help of new research techniques from of discursive analysis. O objetivo deste artigo é promover uma análise dos discursos provenientes de deputados federais evangélicos durante as sessões do Grande Expediente na 52ª Legislatura da Câmara dos Deputados (2003-2006) sobre a proposta de reforma política apresentada, o Projeto de Lei nº 2679 de 2003 elaborado pela Comissão Especial de Reforma Política. A teoria do discurso desenvolvida por Ernesto Laclau e Chantal Mouffe servirá como principal aporte teórico-metodológico deste artigo visto pela possibilidade que esta vertente teórica abre para a compreensão do discurso enquanto prática política na proposta de análise aqui apresentada. Nesta perspectiva, o artigo visa contribuir através de seus resultados para dar mais visibilidade ao assunto, ou seja, o estudo da denominada “bancada evangélica” no Congresso Nacional, buscando, desta forma, explorar o tema com o auxílio de novas técnicas de pesquisa provenientes da análise discursiva.
