Based on bibliographic research, fundamentally in the fields of ethnomusicology, anthropology and political science, the analytical direction is developed in the perspective that our investigative endeavors may have generated part of a communicative arena based on the construction of important polarizations for an economy of opinions characteristic of contemporary political relations. Thus, the existence of narratives that build and reflect conflicts in this context stands out in order to try to understand how music and research in ethnomusicology are inserted and may be acting in this context. Este texto discute algunas relaciones entre la música, la investigación en etnomusicología y el contexto de relaciones informales en nuestra realidad política, considerando nuestras prácticas investigativas como posibilidades para cuestionar discursos existentes y presentar narrativas alternativas en el juego democrático. Con base en investigaciones bibliográficas, fundamentalmente en los campos de la etnomusicología, la antropología y las ciencias políticas, la dirección analítica se desarrolla en la perspectiva de que nuestros quehaceres investigativos pueden haber generado parte de una arena comunicativa basada en la construcción de importantes polarizaciones para una economía de opiniones característica de las relaciones políticas contemporáneas. Así, se destaca la existencia de narrativas que construyen y reflejan conflictos en este contexto para tratar de comprender cómo la música y la investigación en etnomusicología se insertan y pueden estar actuando en este contexto. Este texto discute algumas relações entre música, a pesquisa em etnomusicologia e o contexto das relações informais da nossa realidade política, pensando nossas práticas investigativas como possibilidades de questionar os discursos existentes e de apresentar narrativas alternativas no jogo democrático. Com base em pesquisa bibliográfica, fundamentalmente nos campos da etnomusicologia, antropologia e ciência política, a direção analítica é desenvolvida na perspectiva de que nossos empreendimentos investigativos podem ter gerado parte de uma arena comunicativa baseada na construção de polarizações importantes para uma economia de opiniões característica das relações políticas contemporâneas. Assim, destaca-se a existência de narrativas que constroem e refletem conflitos neste contexto para tentarmos compreender como a música e a pesquisa em etnomusicologia se inserem e podem estar agindo nesta conjuntura.
