description This article deals with the informational behavior in developing professional skills in the scope of Librarianship, using a case study in the mandatory supervised practicum at the Zila Mamede Central Library (BCZM), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The general objective of this article is to analyze the influence of Informational Behavior on the development of professional skills of students who are part of the mandatory supervised practicum at BCZM. To achieve this purpose, bibliographic research on professional skills, informational behavior, and mandatory supervised practicum in the area of Librarianship were carried out. It was also carried out the analysis of documentation related to students who are part of the mandatory supervised practicum at BCZM in 2019.2, as well as the application of the model of Carol Kuhlthau (1991) to discuss the informational behavior of students in the mandatory supervised practicum in order to obtain the achievement of the general objective of this research.Through the analyses of the documentation, it was possible to perceive that there was a development in both technical and professional skills of the students, as there were changes in the way of viewing the library, its processes, and its behavior in the face of unexpected situations, and in the articulation of activities within the most varied contexts in which the students might be inserted.It is concluded that a factor that contributed a lot to the results achieved was the fact that the Zila Mamede Central Library, which added a lot and provided the bridge between the theory and practice of the students, which makes it a broad field for supplying the filling of informational gaps, essential in this stage experienced by them.

O artigo trata do comportamento informacional no desenvolvimento das competências profissionais no âmbito da Biblioteconomia, utilizando-se do estudo de caso no estágio supervisionado obrigatório da Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. O objetivo geral deste artigo é analisar a influência do Comportamento Informacional para o desenvolvimento das competências profissionais dos alunos que fazem parte do estágio supervisionado obrigatório. A metodologia utilizada foi uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca das competências profissionais, comportamento informacional e do estágio supervisionado obrigatório na área de Biblioteconomia; a análise das documentações relativas aos alunos que fazem parte do estágio supervisionado no período 2019.2 e aplicação do modelo de Carol Kuhlthau (1991) para discorrer sobre o comportamento informacional dos alunos do estágio supervisionado obrigatório. Percebe-se através das análises das documentações que houve desenvolvimento não só tecnicista como também da competência profissional dos alunos que, além do desenvolvimento das técnicas inerentes à profissão, foi percebida mudanças na forma de visualizar a biblioteca, dos seus processos, de seus comportamentos diante de situações inesperadas e na articulação das atividades dentro dos mais variados contextos em que o mesmo venha a estar inserido. Conclui-se que um fator que contribuiu para os resultados alcançados foi o papel preponderante que a Biblioteca Central Zila Mamede proporcionou para ampliar o campo relativo ao suprimento do preenchimento de lacunas informacionais tão imprescindíveis nessa etapa vivenciada pelos alunos, tornando-se assim, uma ponte entre a teoria e prática profissional dos estagiários.
