Resumo:This paper brings an experience report focused on theme Heavy Metals for the 1st series of high school in the Chemistry discipline. This experience relates to the activities developed by Chemistry subproject of the institutional program of scholarship for initiation teaching (PIBID). The exhibition of videos, the presentation of slides with a multimedia projector and a blog were the multimedia resources used in the didactic experience to present and contextualize the theme, and as part of the evaluation, crosswords were created using open access software. We aim the theme problematization in the socio-historical context and the discussion about how these materials are used in our daily lives, and revealing the evolution of the chemical knowledge through the historical approach. From the reports of field diaries and analysis of the playful evaluation, we found that the dialogue mediated by multimedia plays a key role in the construction of knowledge and that problematization favors the student's participation in the context in which he finds himself, providing an enriching environment and breaking with the barriers imposed by a system based on banking education.
