Therefore, research on textbooks evaluation is relevant to better guide the school community in the choice and use of this curriculum material. In this qualitative, documentary and exploratory research work, we analyzed an approved textbook for the three years of high school, in the area of natural sciences and its technologies. We used an evaluative tool on the STS perspective and concluded that the book still needs to be complemented by other materials and topics for discussion, in order to better provide grounds for the achievement of STSE education’s goals. We also recommend other tools for evaluating STSE relationships present in curriculum materials. Livros didáticos são ferramentas importantes para apoio na educação formal, e muito utilizados por docentes e discentes. Portanto, pesquisas sobre avaliação de livros didáticos são relevantes para melhor orientar a comunidade escolar na escolha e no uso deste material curricular. Neste trabalho de pesquisa qualitativa, documental e exploratória, analisamos um livro didático aprovado para os três anos do Ensino Médio, na área de Ciências da Natureza e suas Tecnologias. Utilizamos uma ferramenta avaliativa sobre a perspectiva CTS e concluímos que o livro ainda precisa ser complementado por outros materiais e temas para discussão, a fim de melhor fornecer subsídios para o alcance dos objetivos da educação CTSA. Também recomendamos outras ferramentas para avaliação das relações CTSA presentes em materiais curriculares.
