The analyses of the results generated in this research allowed the realization that each individual feels the environment around him in a different way, that is, he/she has different environmental perceptions, depending on their history and culture, but all conceive that the environment is very fragile in the face of the impacts generated by society. It has also been found that academics understand that improvement to the environment comes from information, that is, if you understand that something you practice is not positive to the environment, theoretically, according to your knowledge you will not do so. O presente artigo analisou a percepção dos acadêmicos de Licenciatura em Química, sobre os impactos dos plásticos no meio ambiente através de um questionário, que continha questões abertas e fechadas, sendo que nas questões abertas as análises foram realizadas por meio de análises de conteúdo, que consiste em categorizar as respostas dadas pelos estudantes, encontrando semelhanças entre cada uma delas, e separando-as de acordo com sua categoria e analisar cada categoria segundo a literatura. As análises dos resultados gerados nesta pesquisa possibilitaram a constatação de que cada indivíduo sente o ambiente ao seu redor de uma forma diferente, ou seja possui percepções ambientais diferentes, dependendo da sua história e cultura, mas todos concebem que meio ambiente é muito frágil perante os impactos gerados pela sociedade. Também verificou-se que os acadêmicos, entendem que a melhoria para o meio ambiente vem de informação, ou seja, se você entende que algo que você pratica não é positivo ao meio ambiente, teoricamente, segundo seus conhecimentos você não irá fazê-lo.
