Resumo:This article analyzed the perception of undergraduate students in Chemistry about the impacts of plastics on the environment through a questionnaire, which contained open and closed questions, and in the open questions the analyses were performed through content analyses, which consists of categorizing the answers given by the students, finding similarities between each of them, and by differentiating them according to their category and analyzing each category according to the literature. The analyses of the results generated in this research allowed the realization that each individual feels the environment around him in a different way, that is, he/she has different environmental perceptions, depending on their history and culture, but all conceive that the environment is very fragile in the face of the impacts generated by society. It has also been found that academics understand that improvement to the environment comes from information, that is, if you understand that something you practice is not positive to the environment, theoretically, according to your knowledge you will not do so.
