The image arose from Daibert´s reading of João Guimarães Rosa’s novel (1908-1969), Grande sertão: veredas (1956), in which contrasting dynamic forces are debated –logic and magic, reason and foulness, visibility and concealment–, emulating the narrative flow of Rosa´s prose. So, using Warburg's methodological tools and procedures (approximation, analogy, reminiscence and philology), the image and the pathos’ dimension in the Diadorim’s character are here explored, evoking in turn cosmological dimensions. A xilogravura do artista plástico brasileiro Arlindo Daibert (1952-1993), Diadorim II, é o meio pelo qual se investiga a noção de engrama e Pathosformel segundo Aby Warburg (1866-1929). Imagem motivada pelo romance de João Guimarães Rosa (1908-1969), Grande sertão: veredas (1956), em que se debatem forças dinâmicas contrastantes – lógica e magia, razão e desrazão, aparição e ocultamento –, semelhante ao fluxo narrativo rosiano. Deste modo, com os procedimentos metodológicos de Warburg (aproximativo, analógico, pelas reminiscências e filológico), explorou-se o caráter de transmissão presentes na imagem e na dimensão do páthos na personagem Diadorim, o que permitiu encontrar a sua dimensão cosmológica.
