Cuando Adán y Eva apesadumbrados abandonaron el Paraíso luego de transgredir el mandato divino, llevaron consigo el recuerdo de ese lugar al que nunca regresarían. Ese lugar añorado, jardín de delicias, no es un tópico inherente sólo a las religiones que se sustentan en el texto bíblico, sino que atraviesa todas las culturas de la Antigüedad. Sin embargo, en el Medioevo cristiano se convierte en un espacio reiteradamente evocado tanto en los comentarios filosófico-teológicos como en las representaciones icónicas. El presente trabajo propone abordar las imágenes del Paraíso desde la metodología superadora planteada por Warburg, retomada y revalorizada en los últimos años por Georges Didi-Huberman entre otros, en cuanto están construidas con préstamos de saberes transmitidos y de no-saberes, con transformaciones, con dislocaciones; en suma, imágenes abiertas a una pluralidad de sentidos.
