| Resumo: | Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked recessive progressive disease, characterized by muscle weakness and possible complications in the cardiorespiratory and digestive system. This article is a literature review, whose objective is to develop a protocol for nutritional therapy in DMD, to support the clinical practice of the team of nutritionists and students of the Nutrition course who work in the extension project Assistência nutricional nas distrofias musculares infantis, developed in ambulatório de doenças neuromusculares do Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes/ UFRN. The selection of articles was carried out in the Pubmed and Embase databases, using standardized descriptors. The protocol developed, based on scientific evidence, may help in decision-making about the diet therapy treatment of individuals with DMD. |
