| Resumo: | Information management represents an important strategy for organizations, both for their internal development and for their competitiveness. In this sense, Thomas Davenport's ecological model of information becomes fundamental in a context permeated by information in institutions, especially in the organizational environment. In the meantime, this objective study analyzes the contemporaneity of the Davenport model, having as locus the professionalizing technical education organizations in the city of Fortaleza-CE. It uses as a methodological route a semi-structured interview with the managers of these organizations, having as a cut-out the components of the informational environment. The results point to the confirmation of the actuality of the model in its essence, however, some basic components were observed in the applicability of its essence.
