The possibility of building a research object from Physical Education to think about the uses of thermalism as a form of education of the body. This work focuses on the study of the Guaviyú thermal center in the 1960s and is based on the documentary analysis of various sources such as local press, official documentation, hygiene manuals and periodicals of the period. El siguiente artículo está centrado en un avance de la investigación ¿Turismo de Salud? Usos de las aguas termales en Paysandú (1957-1979). La misma se propone comprender las nociones en relación con la salud que sostuvieron los usos de dichas aguas en este departamento desde fines de la década de 1950 a la década de 1970. Se plantea la posibilidad de construir un objeto de investigación desde la Educación Física al pensar los usos del termalismo como una forma de educación del cuerpo. Este trabajo se focaliza en el estudio del centro termal de Guaviyú en la década de 1960 y está basado en el análisis documental de diversas fuentes como prensa local, documentación oficial, manuales de higiene y publicaciones periódicas del período.
