However, the audio codecs of these platforms are focused on speech transmission and standard configurations can harm the transmission of musical content. The main objective of this work is to carry out a survey of seven web conferencing platforms and evaluate the audio transmission quality of these software, focusing on the audio quality provided for use in online music classes. Results showed that most platforms do not transmit musical content satisfactorily, mainly because they focus on the transmission of speech. Two platforms stood out in this study and were considered suitable for music teaching, Webex and Zoom, both with specific settings for music streaming. It is hoped that this study can help educators in the appropriate choice of technological resources for online music classes. O ensino e aprendizagem musical na contemporaneidade perpassa a utilização de recursos tecnológicos digitais. Aulas no formato online e síncrono podem fazer uso de plataformas de webconferência, já solidificadas no mercado. Entretanto, os codecs de áudio destas plataformas estão focados na transmissão da fala e suas configurações padrão podem prejudicar a sonoridade de instrumentos musicais. O objetivo central deste trabalho foi realizar um levantamento de sete plataformas de webconferência e avaliar a qualidade de transmissão de áudio desses softwares, dando enfoque à qualidade de áudio proporcionada para a utilização em aulas de música ministradas online. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria das plataformas não transmitem conteúdo musical de forma satisfatória, principalmente pelo fato de focarem a transmissão da voz falada. Duas plataformas se sobressaíram neste estudo e foram consideradas adequadas para o ensino musical, Webex e Zoom, ambas com configurações específicas para transmissão de música. Espera-se que este estudo possa auxiliar educadores na escolha adequada de recursos tecnológicos para aulas de música ministradas online.
