The silencing of these memories about the urban fabric tries to make the relevance of the waters unimportant for the city's population. We seek to evidence the work activities, sociabilities, and leisure in the tanks, from the understanding of the production of an urban based on the attempt to keep suburban subjectivities away. Part of the sociocultural spectrum understood as suburban was produced in the water spaces by the labor activities of watermen, housekeepers, washerwomen, among others. This article aims to add to the understanding of the relationship between work and the production of city space, as well as to evidence that these environments carry the memories inscribed in the daily toil of ordinary people. As águas são um capítulo à parte na história de Feira de Santana. O silenciamento dessas memórias sobre o tecido urbano tenta invizibilizar relevância das águas para a população da cidade. Buscamos evidenciar as atividades de trabalho, sociabilidades e lazer nos tanques, a partir da compreensão da produção de um urbano pautado na tentativa afastar as subjetividades suburbanas. Parte do espectro sociocultural entendido como suburbano foi produzido nos espaços das águas pelas atividades laborais de aguadeiros, domésticas, lavadeiras entre outros. Esse artigo visa agregar ao entendimento da relação entre trabalho e produção do espaço citadino, bem como evidenciar que esses ambientes carregam as memórias inscritas na labuta diária das pessoas comuns.
