Resumo: | Introduction: care for women in the gravidic-puerperal cycle results in the reduction of maternal and infant morbimortality levels and translates into quality of life in a society, and should be a priority in health policies. Objective: to describe the sociodemographic and obstetric profile of pregnant women admitted for childbirth in a high-risk maternity hospital, in order to identify associated risk factors. Methodology: descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional research, with secondary data from 2016 to 2018. Descriptive analysis adjusted by the chi-square test, considering p < 0,05. Results: 11.704 women were analyzed. The majority profile of patients was: extreme ages (22,6%); low education (41,1%); 74,3% married/living in cohabitation; from the countryside (53,4%); majority of them are housewife; primiparae. It was noticed: premature pregnancies (31,1%); 42,1% had a maximun of 6 prenatal consultations; and 62% of cesarean delivery. Age under 18 years was predominant in women from the countryside. There was an association between low education and a higher number of prenatal consultations, multiparity and vaginal delivery. Conclusions: this is a pioneer study on the epidemiological profile of this servisse, contributing to maternal and child care. |
