Resumo:Objective: this study sought to identify and characterize the impacts that social isolation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic caused on the mental health of children and adolescents. Methodology: this was an integrative review type study, where the search took place within the Virtual Health Library (VHL), in the following databases Medical Literature Analysis and Online Recovery System (Medline), Latin American Literature and from the Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS), Spanish Bibliographic Index of Health Sciences (IBECS), where it was possible to include four articles to be part of this research. Results: from the studies included in this review, it was noted that adolescent children and adolescents impact on health feelings of discouragement, uncertainty, boredom, irritability and apathy. Conclusion: pretending to be discouraged, uncertain about the future, changes in mental health and emotional behavior, with an emphasis on boredom, irritability and apathy faced by children and adolescents.
