This article aims to present the historical path and the recognition process of the Quilombo do Maracujá Community, in Conceição do Coité-BA, based on the oral histories through the elders of these community and theoretical framework. The methodology used is qualitative and exploratory, based on empirical aspects, using data from the narrative interviews carried out with the elders/griots and the community teachers as an instrument. The results allowed us to reflect that, although the Brazilian black movement has driven the organized struggle in favor of Quilombo communities and these groups have achieved important goals, many steps still need to be taken, and it is essential to propose a school curriculum that articulates scientific knowledge and traditional knowledge, aiming to build up a dialogic relationship that involves practices and expectations about community life. Este artículo tiene como finalidad presentar la trayectoria histórica y el proceso de reconocimiento de la Comunidad del Quilombolo do Maracujá, en Conceição do Coité-BA, a partir de la transmisión oral de estas historias por los ancianos y el marco teórico. La metodología es cualitativa y exploratoria, basada en aspectos empíricos, utilizando datos de las entrevistas narrativas realizadas con los ancianos y los profesores de la comunidad. Los resultados nos permitieron reflexionar que el movimiento negro brasileño ha impulsado la lucha organizada a favor de las comunidades quilombolas y estos grupos han logrado importantes beneficios, pero aún quedan muchos pasos por dar, y es fundamental construir un currículo escolar que mezcle conocimiento científico y conocimiento tradicional, apuntando a una construcción dialógica que involucra prácticas y expectativas sobre la vida en la comunidad quilombola. O presente artigo tem como objetivo contextualizar o percurso histórico e o processo de reconhecimento da Comunidade Quilombola do Maracujá, em Conceição do Coité-BA, tendo como base a transmissão oral dessas histórias por meio dos/os anciões/ãs e do referencial teórico pesquisado. A metodologia é de natureza qualitativa e caráter exploratório, com base em aspectos empíricos, tendo como instrumento os dados parciais das entrevistas narrativas feitas com as anciãs/griôs e as professoras da comunidade. Os resultados nos permitiram refletir que, embora o movimento negro brasileiro tenha impulsionado a luta organizada em prol das comunidades quilombolas e essas comunidades tenham alcançado importantes conquistas, muitos passos ainda necessitam ser dados, sendo imprescindível a construção de um currículo escolar que articule os saberes científicos com os saberes tradicionais, visando a uma construção dialógica que envolva práticas e expectativas sobre a vida em comunidade.
