This case study intends to show the transformation of the audiovisual entertainment division and the evolution of the largest media and communication conglomerate in Latin America, Grupo Globo, into innovations of consumer habits. Attempting to increase its competitiveness and adapt to the new scenario that manifests nowadays, the group launched its streaming platform, Globoplay, which, in addition to expanding its products, innovates in its content diversity. Therefore, the study objective is to supply a discussion and knowledge about main concepts in administration and accounting areas, along with expanding the understanding about the analysis of technological advances, which are sharply fast. Through research in secondary databases, this case presents the company, its new product, the sector in which it operates, and its main competitors. It also provides a theoretical basis for the issues’ application presented, contributing to the practical learning of the theory demonstrated, in addition to fostering managerial practice. |

Este caso de estudio pretende mostrar la transformación de la división de entretenimiento audiovisual y la evolución del conglomerado de medios y comunicación más grande de América Latina, Grupo Globo, en innovaciones de hábitos de consumo. Intentando incrementar su competitividad y adaptarse al nuevo escenario que se manifiesta en la actualidad, el grupo lanzó su plataforma de streaming, Globoplay, que además de expandir sus productos, innova en su diversidad de contenidos. Por tanto, el objetivo del estudio es aportar una discusión y conocimiento sobre los principales conceptos en las áreas de administración y contabilidad, así como ampliar la comprensión sobre el análisis de los avances tecnológicos, los cuales son de una gran rapidez. A través de la investigación en bases de datos secundarias, este caso presenta la empresa, su nuevo producto, el sector en el que opera y sus principales competidores. También proporciona una base teórica para la aplicación de los temas presentados, contribuyendo al aprendizaje práctico de la teoría demostrada, además de fomentar la práctica gerencial. O presente estudo de caso visa apresentar a transformação do setor de entretenimento audiovisual e a adaptação do maior conglomerado de mídia e comunicação da América Latina, o Grupo Globo, às mudanças de hábito dos consumidores. Com o objetivo de ampliar sua competitividade e se adequar ao novo cenário que se apresenta, o grupo lançou sua plataforma de streaming, Globoplay, que além de ampliar seus produtos, inova em sua diversidade de conteúdo.
