We will try to show how the book debates the possible articulation between class and democracy as an alternative to the liberal capitalist political model, according to Ellen Wood. A presente resenha do livro "Ellen Wood: o resgate da classe e a luta pela democracia", publicado por Jefferson Nascimento em 2019, busca debater o conceito de classe em Ellen Wood, para a partir disso relacionar a tentativa de renovação do materialismo histórico empreendido pela referida autora com seu modelo de democracia substantiva, à luz do livro objeto dessa resenha.
