Resumo:Objectives: The aim of the research is to evaluate the effect of Ankylosing Spondylitis on the quality of life of affected patients identify the level that quality of life in patients diagnosed with AS, identify the level of pain of these patients and determine the sociodemographic characteristics (gender, age, education level) of Ankylosing Spondylitis sufferers. Methods: This is an observational, descriptive, survey and quantitative study, in which patients with ankylosing spondylitis were interviewed in a context in which the active search was aimed at analyzing data from patients with this comorbidity. Results and Discussion: The patients with AS, have an average of 48% of worse quality of life, being thus, possible to observe that, this is one of the most frequent alterations of the disease, making impossible the patient of simple things as the act of dressing the clothes. Conclusion: It is important to have an early diagnosis in order for the treatment to have repercussions on the quality of life and to give the patients vitality, social and mental aspects with the general objective of a better quality of life.
