Resumo:Anacardium is a native fruit from the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. It has a pseudo-fruit, peduncle, which is wasted due to the valorization of the chestnut. It serves as raw material for several regional recipes. The photographic work aimed to record images of a moment of devaluation of the use of cashew as one of the historical exponents of food culture in Ceará. The entire work, entitled “The plenty of waste”, took second place in the cultural activity category of the Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition at UNINTA, Sobral, Ceará, Brazil. All images were captured by cell phone. Through the analysis of the photographic message, the devaluation of the peduncle as a raw material is related to the high rate of waste in the region.
