Resumo: | Intoxication can happen accidentally or intentionally, when there is an attempt of self extermination. The goal of this study is to report a case of acute intoxication by a tricyclic antidepressant (amitriptyline) followed during a toxicology internship at an Information and Toxicological Assistance Center. Patient Y.G.S., 13 years old, female, presented sinus tachycardia (heart rate of 168 BPM), oxygen saturation of 96% in ambient air, pupils non-reagent to light, arterial pressure of 120x90 mmHg, and respiratory frequency of 22 respiratory incursions per minute. However, on the sixth day of hospitalization, the patient presented a curve of clinical improvement without sings of acute intoxication. In this case, several findings lead to a bad prognosis, but the outcome was positive. |
