Resumo: | Stroke affects the functioning of the individual's daily life and can generate motor, sensory and cognitive deficits, impacting their daily activities (ADLs) and influencing the way they evaluate their life. The present study aims to analyze the effects of the occupational therapist intervention in patients with stroke. The method used was an integrative review in the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The descriptors used for the search, standardized by the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS), were: “stroke”, “occupational therapy” and “treatment”, using the Boolean operator “AND”. Eight articles were analyzed, following the inclusion criteria: works published between 2015 and 2020, in Portuguese and English, that met at least two descriptors and that addressed the intervention of the occupational therapist with post-stroke patients. Finally, it could be seen that the Occupational Therapist is of paramount importance in the treatment of stroke patients, through methods and techniques that aim to improve occupational performance, autonomy and independence in carrying out activities of daily living. |
