Objectives: The purpose of this article is to review the nomenclature of usual surgical instruments in adenotonsillectomy and to propose an instrument table organization to facilitate the exchange of instruments. Methods: Through images of real instruments individually and in their complex arrangement on the instrument table, the nomenclature and the arrangement of instruments and other materials for the organization of an efficient instrumentation table were explained in different stages. Conclusion: Knowledge about the nomenclature of surgical instruments and their proper organization for the surgery can be a facilitator for a successful surgery. Introdução: O ato cirúrgico de sucesso depende de um conjunto de processos e habilidades, dentre eles a presença dos instrumentos cirúrgicos adequados e uma disposição que traga facilidade e agilidade ao procedimento são parte importante do ato cirúrgico. Objetivos: O objetivo do presente artigo é revisar a nomenclatura de instrumentos cirúrgicos usuais na adenotonsilectomia e propor uma organização de mesa de instrumentos para facilitar as trocas de instrumentos. Métodos: Por meio de imagens de instrumentos reais de forma individual e em seu complexo arranjo na mesa de instrumentais foi explicado em diferentes etapas a nomenclatura e a disposição dos instrumentos e outros materiais para a organização de uma mesa de instrumentação eficiente. Conclusão: O conhecimento sobre a nomenclatura dos instrumentos cirúrgicos e sua adequada organização para o ato operatório pode ser um facilitador para um ato operatório de sucesso.
