Resumo:In this article, we aimed to think about the daily life of a psychiatric hospital beyond the coercive imposed by permanent institutionalization. The minority lifestyles of the residents of the institution revealed to us, in their own fragments, ways-other to think their experiences in a public hospital ward called "Lar Abrigado". From an ethnographic work, it was observed how the institutional reality can be inhabited and reinvented by the 19 residents of that space. It was also observed how the movements composed by desire can be thought of as a power that moves and disrupts that world. The research was composed, in addition to the ethnographic work, also by semi-structured interviews and bibliographic-documentary survey.
